Fan Made ipod Touch AD REWARDED

18 year old student Nick Haley liked his new iPod Touch so much he made a commercial and posted it to YouTube. So far, so normal, right? The twist is that Apple liked his ad so much, it asked its agency, TBWA/Chiat/Day, to use it.

The agency emailed Haley, who was skeptical at first, but he soon flew from England to LA to help produce a cleaned up, high definition version of the ad.
Haley put the commercial together on his MacBook, using Final Cut Pro, and set it to the song "Music Is My Hot, Hot Sex" by Brazilian band CSS. Check the final version on the Apple site to see just how similar it is to the original.

Speeding up the Firefox

Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining

network.http.proxy.pipelining

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

Samsung's Thin TV

samsung-thintv.jpg

That should be their motto because they've totally abandoned the whole bigger is better thing. Leave that to LG and Panasonic. Samsung wants to beat out Sony, who's been touting the world's thinnest TV. Now Samsung has something to show and tell. This beauty is barely 1 cm thick. Not as thin as some of what we've seen from Sony but Samsung has managed to do it with a 40" screen. Now that's impressive. The LED backlight makes for some really crisp imagery, not to mention the lower power consumption; only 90 watts.

This isn't a concept either. TV's like this will be hitting the Japanese market soonish so Americans and Europeans can probably get in on wafer TV's early next year.
