Dungeons & Dragon - You have never played like this

A team from Carnegie Mellon has developed a D&D that can be played on Microsoft’s Surface.
The video shows that players can put their miniature figures on the Surface, and it will automatically give the stats on the display.

SurfaceScapes Gameplay Session from Surfacescapes on Vimeo.

As for the Dungeon Master’s (DM) role, he or she can make maps, and then go in for closeups and scroll with some device exists that outside of the surface. You’ll have to watch the vid to see what I’m talking about. It would appear that the DM is linked to the Surface with a laptop for their own personal privacy.

Now, the whole Dungeons and Dragons game is dependent on dice, and it appears that there is a kind of virtual dice that the character can “roll”.

Windows 7 Promotional Launch Party Help Video

Microsoft will be releasing Windows 7 on October 22nd and as part of their launch promotions, they’ve asked people to host launch parties for the new OS. If chosen as a host, you’d have received a free Signature Edition of Windows 7 Ultimate and run a chance to win a $750. The video was created for these chosen hosts as both a promotional tool and somewhat of an instructional video on how to host one of these parties. Never mind now though since confirmations are already being sent out. The point here is just how freaking horrible and asinine the video is.

Dont buy Vista for next 18 days!!!

Are you planning to buy Vista??? Then postpone the plane for next 18 days. There is a surprise for vista buyers who purchase it after 26 June 2009...

Consumers who purchase a Vista-based computer on or after June 26 will be allowed to upgrade to Windows 7 for free!!! Yep you read it right. A leaked corporate memo from electronics retailer Best Buy states this information. The memo states that Best Buy (and presumably its competitors) will launch a "Technology Guarantee" program on June 26, under which anyone who purchases a PC running Vista Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate can install Windows 7 at no extra charge when the latter becomes available Oct. 22.

Motion tracking 3D cam for XBOX soon

In a attempt to overcome the Nintendo WII, Microsoft is believed to be developing a 3D camera for the Xbox 360 games console that will allow players to control games through their body movement.

Unlike the Nintendo's WII which requires a Wiimote to identify the player's movement, the Microsoft XBOX360 camera uses the movement of the player's head, arm and leg.
The accuracy is achieved by using a 3D Z-cam technology which Microsoft acquired Israeli start-up 3DV Systems in February. Sources say that this would be demonstrated in the E3 game industry conference this june and it would be on sales from next year.

Max Payne 3 - coming this winter 2009

A third chapter in the popular Max Payne franchise will release this winter, according to an announcement from publisher Rockstar Games.

The publisher's Vancouver studio, the minds behind open-world action game Bully, will develop Max Payne 3 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

"We’re starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game," said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games, in a statement. "This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever."

The third-person game that follows the adventures of a police detective is best remembered for its Matrix-style, slow-motion shooting.

The End of Xbox 360 Elite

Microsoft will soon pull out Xbox 360 Elite from their line as it’s not been selling that well.

According to its reports Microsoft will stop taking new orders in the second quarter and once Elite becomes ‘elite’ to be found then it’ll play a role of limited edition package, much like currently available Resident Evil 5 package. Likewise, these packages will be themed and will come with a title and for higher price than current Xbox 360 Elite. The report also goes onto claim that these packages will only be available in North America and Europe.

Our Source told us that Microsoft is already working with its Asian partners to finalize this plan, provided they don’t see any potential losses. I don’t take rumors that seriously but when it’s coming about Microsoft then there are pretty good chances of it being an early leak rather than being a baseless rumor.

Microsoft Corp. has announced the next version of its Windows operating system will include a control panel that allows users to turn off Internet Explorer (IE) 8 and other key Microsoft programs.

"In addition to the features that were already available to turn on or off in Windows Vista, we've added the following features to the list in Windows 7," listing IE 8, Windows Media Player and a variety of other Microsoft programs.
