Bring out the child in you this Christmas

This Christmas dads who want to surprise their kids might actually end up getting the PicoZ Heli Mission for themselves

This groundbreaking R/C mash up combines the thrill of helicopter flight with the excitement of driving a SWAT truck. Wow! It might look like a stealthy brute of a vehicle – and it is – but this macho truck features a cavernous cargo bay that opens up, upon your command, to reveal a fully-functioning micro helicopter sitting on an auto-elevating launchpad. Incredible! It’s like Thunderbirds meets Airwolf with a highly Hasselhoffian touch of 80s folly thrown in for good measure. Both precision-engineered machines are controlled via a single transmitter with smart shoulder buttons that allow you to switch seamlessly between truck and chopper.

One thing though – what happens when the helicopter is in mid-air and you switch over to the truck? Will it just hover there until the subsequent instruction? Guess you’ll need to fork out £59.95 to find out!

Another cool Toy from Bandai

G-Bound is the coolest RC toy for sure as it not only does crazy stunts on land, but thanks to it’s balloon type tires, can drive on water as well.

Made by Toy giant Bandai, the GBound has a waterproof body and huge inflatable tires which not only travels on any surface, but can flip over and drive along upside down.

The car is powered by a rechargble battery pack and the 27MHz remote control lets you move the tires forward and backward individually, making it possible to spin around on one spot. You can also go forward, and then hit back, to flip the car around.

Unveiled at the Tokyo Toy Show, the GBound R/C card is scheduled to be released anytime now for about $140.

Halloween Special - I-FLY Vamp

This is exactly what you think it is, a toy bat that can be remote-controlled.
It is about 13 grams in weight and has a ten inch wingspan to fly like an ornithopter. The i-Fly Vamp comes with an extra pair of wings.

The Vamp has a lightweight rechargeable Lithium Polymer flight battery that is capable of ten minutes of flight time for every half hour’s worth of charging. The controller requires 6 AA batteries to operate.

It even has some eerie green LED eyes for a little extra shock value. Just imagine the trick or treaters coming to your house with this guy!

When they go “trick or treat”, you can just say “trick”, and then swoop this i-Fly Vamp on them. Yeah, make them think that there is some vampire that is going to get them. Ha-ha-ha.

Cyborg is no more Science Fiction

REMOTE-CONTROLLED insects may sound like the stuff of science fiction, but they have already been under development for some time now.

The creation of a cyborg insect army has just taken a step closer to reality. A research team at the University of California Berkeley recently announced that it has successfully implanted electrodes into a beetle allowing scientists to control the insect’s movements in flight. “We demonstrated the remote control of insects in free flight via an implantable radioequipped miniature neural stimulating system,” the researchers reported in their new paper for Frontiers in Integrative Neuroscience. ” The pronotum mounted system consisted of neural stimulators, muscular stimulators, a radio transceiver-equipped microcontroller and a microbattery.” Eventually, the mind-controlled insects could be used to “serve as couriers to locations not easily accessible to humans or terrestrial robots,” they note

This Water canon is awesome fun

Few things bring out the kid in adults like having their hands on a water cannon. You don’t have to run around, you just choose an unsuspecting target and blast them with water. With this you don’t even have to be anywhere near them.

This is the remote controlled water cannon that can direct a stream of water up to 100'. The cannon's base connects to a garden hose; three interchangeable nozzles (spray, mist, and stream) fit onto the end of the cannon's barrel, generating different spray patterns, enabling you to soak a wider number of playmates. You can control it with the infrared remote while in direct line of sight from up to 30' away. The cannon can be rotated 270° for nearly complete horizontal coverage, and its barrel can be raised 20° and depressed 5°, allowing you to place it on the ground or on an outdoor structure to bypass fences, walls, or other passive defenses.
For $59.95 this is one awesome canon for both fun and watering the plants.

Mini Robots called ROBO-Q - RC Toys

People talking about Robots consider it as warring machines that are able to level a city in no time with its array of missiles and lasers. Well, here’s some news - not all robots are marauding technological monsters who love nothing better than wipe out an entire city for no good reason.

There are some small and cute ones like the Robo-Q Tiny R/C Robot which are fully walking models, they are also equipped with fully autonomous modes in order to prevent bumping into obstacles as well as chase after the included soccer ball. For folks who are control freaks, you’ll be pleased to know these $39.99 robots will come with a remote. Bear in mind this imported toy comes with an all-Japanese manual, but you ought to figure out how to insert the AA batteries, don’t you?

RC Helicopter - Voice Controlled

I love new things when it comes to RC Stuff. But this time i really found this RC toy outstanding from other. WHY? Because unlike other RC stuff this RC helicopter operates under voice commands. Check out the video of this great stuff.
The learning curve for flying R/C helicopters can be pretty steep, even for some of the simpler 3 and 4 channel models. Taiyo is trying to make it a little bit easier with this voice controlled heli, which responds to 5 commands: “start engine,” “up,” “hold,” “down” and “stop.” It really should respond to things like “come back” but with a range of only 30 feet you may not have too much to worry about. The 7 inch long helicopter also comes with a remote control, and will retail for $60 sometime later this year.

RC Tank - Definitely not the usual one

At first I thought it was another R/C beer can transporter (which it can be in land mode) but when the tank hits the water the wheels fold up into the can holders, cool! Oh and it also shoots BB bullets.

Transforming from powerful, road-going tank to impressive ocean-going assault boat in the merest blink, this cunning device takes 4WD R/C (that’s 4-wheel-drive remote control) to a new level, loosing-off whole squadrons of BB bullets at your command.

Sturdy and imposing on land, with full 4-wheel drive capability to tackle the most arduous of, err, rockeries, this changeling of a device is equally at home in the briny. On activating the transformation device deep in the heart of the unit, powerful twin propellers take over from wheels, providing rock-solid forward motion in the water.

A gift for your kids this Christmas

Trossen Robotics will be making available its new MechRC Humanoid Robot to the masses in the US, and parents can breath easy since this Christmas present won’t break the $1,000 barrier in terms of pricing. That doesn’t mean it is affordable for everyone though, since it is still pretty pricey at $599.99 - definitely not an impulse purchase considering how everyone else is tightening their wallets to weather the current global economic meltdown.

High torque metal gear servos, LiPo batteries for longer run times, a fluid 3D visual software programming interface for easy custom motions, and a remote control unit are included. Everything you need to have you own walking robot is included in this ready-to-walk kit! With over a hundred pre-installed motions and sounds you can get this robot throwing some dance floor shapes or some killer fighting moves straight from the box.

Kids will definitely love this, but it remains to be seen whether this $599.99 device is able to offer as engaging an experience compared to a cheaper games console.

Tired of RC Stuff? I bet you will like this for sure

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wasn’t that spectacular although it was by no means a failure when it comes to box office receipts. Here’s a toy to help you relive more tense moments of the movie.

Use the powers of the crystal skull remote to control the fearsome ant. Scurries and moves like a super-sized version of the real thing. Terrorize your family and friends with its scissor-action mandible!

Would be nice if this was accompanied by a crystal skull mask or toy in order to complete the intended effect. You will need to spare plenty of AA batteries to keep the $34.98 Indiana Jones Giant Radio Controlled Ant going.
