A phone for smokers - Not for me
Although I fully admit to chuckling quite a bit after first seeing this cellphone with a built-in cigarette lighter, I can see some practicality with it. After all, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard of my smoking friends losing their lighter. I’ve been asked numerous times if I happen to have a lighter on me, despite that they’re fully aware I don’t smoke. Having a lighter built into your cellphone would come in incredibly handy. After all, your phone is almost always somewhere within reach.
I know, smoking is a nasty habit, but smokers catch enough grief as it is. It only seems fair that they get the occasional high tech item to make their lives easier.

Samsung's new phone is ready for sun bath
Samsung is going green with it’s first solar-powered GSM cell phone. Now you don't have to worry about your phone running out of juice again.
This solar-powered GSM mobile phone, the E1107, also known by the catchier name Crest Solar. The phone is a dual-band GSM (900MHz and 1800MHz) and can be charged anywhere the sun is shining. Other features include all the usual refinements including an FM radio and MP3 ringtones, and games. It can even work as a flashlight but you can bet that’s a battery killer which will force you to wait until sunrise to recharge without the AC adapter.
Security features include Samsung’s proprietary Mobile Tracker - which will alert the authorities in the event of an emergency with an SOS like signal, and there’s also a fake call feature for use when wanting to disengage from a sticky situation with a well timed phone call.
Well in India it is estimated to cost about $59 but there's no word as to when or if it will be available in the U.S.

Mobile phone cum Shaver
It appears like the biggest Chinese mobile phone supplier has come up with something even more interesting: a phone that is an electric shaver.
Yes, someone actually realized how much electric shavers and cell phones have in common, and finally merged the two technologies together with the Cool758.
I believe that there is about a half-hour of shaving time on this guy, and about 2-3 hours worth of calling time (220-260 hours on standby). It also has dual SIM card slots, an FM radio, as well as other standard phone features.
Clearly, having a shaver on a phone is very much a non-standard feature. However, I haven’t heard how the user changes the blades out, or anything. Wouldn’t the hair get on the cell phone? Also, if the phone vibrates, is that because someone is calling you or did you leave the shaver on?
Let’s see the Apple iPhone develop an app for this shaving function. If you want to try this out, feel free to shell out about $112 for it. However, you should probably need to be in China to use it.

GPS in a Simcard named SIMply
Many of us get disappointed that our mobile phone doesn’t have a GPS device like other mobile phones. Well, if your cellular phone has a SIM card reader, then you should have no problem getting a GPS in your phone with the aptly-named SIMply-A-GPS.
This product, developed by Sagem-Orga and BlueSky Positioning, is definitely one of those products that truly defines plug-and-play. Somehow, these two groups have figured out how to put a GPS receiver, antenna, as well as the application software into a product that fits into any phone’s card reader.
It can work with any GSM or 3G phone, and, when inserted, it will run on your mobile like a SIM/USMI. Apparently, there are no software or hardware changes required for handsets, and it can support generic location-based services such as navigation, such as “find a place or person” services and location-aware games.
It also supports E-112 and E-911 Emergency Call Positioning and enables SIM, mobile, and network-based LBS applications.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a release date for this product, but there is word that the product was given out last November. Perhaps the company wanted to give out samples in hopes word of mouth would spread.

No Road ahead for the PSP Phone
The consumer electronics giant has allegedly put the kibosh on plans by its cellphone subsidiary Sony Ericsson to use the PlayStation brand to create a new handset, says Mobile magazine.
Sony Ericsson reportedly made a pitch for licensing that brand last year. The idea was to have a PSP phone that would appeal to video game loyalists of the brand and be an extension much like the Cyber-shot and Walkman handsets. Sony Ericsson representatives have not yet responded to a request for comment.
Sony is reported to have said that it will consider using the PlayStation brand for the phone only if the company can make the handsets itself, rather than license it to the Sony, Ericsson joint venture.

Motorola Saved my life says a Louisiana resident
Motorola RAZR phones are thin, compact, and abounding of features. Now Motorola can accomplish addition affirmation to their accepted cell, it is bulletproof!
Or, at the actual least, ammo resistant. Apparently, Motorola subscriber and Louisiana citizen R.J. Richards was mowing his backyard and acquainted an odd sensation, and anticipation he was hit with a tiny rock. This consistently seems to appear to me if I mow my lawn. Mowers tend to draft pieces of bits and hit my legs all the time.
Richards again took out his RAZR phone, alone to accept it abatement afar in his hands. He anon apparent that it had been hit by a .45 ability bullet. Don’t worry, cipher approved to assassinate this man, but allegedly there was a “hunting accident”. Dick Cheney accept to accept been visiting Louisiana that day.
R.J. Richards attributes the cellular buzz bullet-block to all-powerful intervention. In all honesty, I’m not assertive what abroad to aspect this to. If you attending at the allowance of the cellular phone, additional the hunting accident, it does assume a little adjoin the odds.
This is bold the adventure is true, of course. I heard a agnate adventure about how an iPod blocked the aisle of a ammo a few years ago. Allegedly it adored the activity of a U.S. soldier based in Iraq.
So, what is the next adaptable accessory that will block a bullet? Better yet, can we get adaptable accessories to be so boxy that they could yield a bullet? Go advanced and bell in on this one with a comment.

Projector Phone from China for $365

The china's projector phone is a tri-band GSM model that features all of the options you’d expect on a smartphone these days like a touch screen, bluetooth, digital camera, microSD card slot and what appears to be a bastardized version of the iPhone OS, but it also includes a built-in 640×480 projector, which is definitely something most consumers would not expect. The photo above shows a supposed actual projection from the phone, but the video I’ve included below seems a bit more indicative of what the projector’s quality is really like.
